DDS 10/Windows 7 Compatibility
I know that my True Image 10 isn't compatible with W7, but I couldn't find anything that said whether this version of DDS is or not. Since it installed and successfully copied a partition to a new location, I figured that it was, but when I tried to use it to create a new partition today, on the same drive where I copied the other, it produced a window with a size slide with over 8 TB at the minimum and zero bytes as the maximum. The unallocated space that I intended to use is only ~258GB and the drive itself is only 500GB, so where it comes up with those numbers, I have no idea. The drop down window was inop, except that I could type in the desired size, and proceed to the window for naming the partition and clicked next, nothing happens.
Is there something wrong with the installation of the program, or is it not compatible with W7?
Fortunately, that is the build that I have. Has there been any word about a new DDS that will be compatible with W7?
Version 11 is in the works. Acronis has posted here that it should be available "soon", meaning next month or early in the new year.
Since I'm going to have to replace TI 10 also, I wonder if they will have an upgrade bundle with both programs together?

I doubt it. Their official statements so far indicate that they are planning to release version 11 to be Windows 7 compatible.

There would be no profit in that.
I guess it should at least support the latest OS on N-1 products.... oops DDS10 is actually current version. Thought Acronis has better product support that this.
Ipurchased DD 10.0.2160 and TI 10.0.4742 for Win XP. Everything worked ok. I had to replace my XP based computer with a new Vista Home Premium (32 bit) computer. I loaded both programs on the computer to run under Windows. It was a total disaster. I uninstalled both programs and booted the computer to Acronis. TI must run in safe mode and DD is ok in normal mode. I performed all partition/backup functions with no problems. I upgraded my os from Vista to Win 7 and performed all functions the same way with no problems. However, I do not know if the backup is ok. I was able to perform all functions from both cds with no problems. I am also waiting for a Win 7 DD compatible release before purchasing the TI 2010.
Ich finde es eine absolute Frechheit, was hier gemacht wird, seitens acronis. Ich kaufte mir vor noch wenigen Monaten die Disk Director Suite 10 nur, weil man offeriert hat, dass, wenn Windows 7 rauskommt, auch ein Update dafür zur Verfügung gestellt wird!!!!!!
Jetzt habe ich zwei Titel aus dem Hause acronis, welche nicht mal älter als 2 Jahre sind und nix funktioniert unter W7. Unter Vista alles ok. Das muss mir mal einer erklären.
Ich persönlich sehe hier eindeutig einen Produktmangel! Nach deutschem Recht, müßte man das ganze Zeug zurückschicken und sein Geld zurück verlangen.
Auch die Upgradepreise schreien zum Himmel!

Eine vor 3 Jahren gekaufte Version TI10.0 Schrott (die läuft aber, warum auch immer unter W7 RC Ultimate 64bit!!!!!)
