Multiple backups - different locations

Thread needs solution

Can I make multiple backups of the same laptop? I work in two locations and I would like to maintain backups at each. Can I do this and perform differential backups at the two different locations or will there be a problem with the backups getting out of step? For example:

Monday - full backup of the C: partition at home to external drive
Tuesday full backup of the C: partition at work to different external drive
Wed diff backup at work location
Thursday diff backup at home location
etc
etc
then at some point
PC crash - full partition restore from home/work backup.

I guess I'm worried that the differential backup at home will be the delta from the last backup at work, not home and so will skip some information. I've explained it badly, but hopefully you understand. Maybe another way of asking is when a differential or incremental backup is done does Acronis compare current state of laptop with the backup file on the external disk or does it maintain an index on the laptop of files which need to be backed up? If it's the former then I guess it won't be a problem, but if its the latter then files backed up to work won't get backed up at the next home backup.

Acronis True Image Home 11

Thanks in advance,

Lee.

It shouldn't be a problem. When you create an Incremental or Differential backup, TI uses the specified backup image file as the "base" for the new file. I backup to several internal and external drives without problems.

For example: If you created a Full backup to USB-A on Monday and then created a Full backup to USB-B on Wednesday and then created an Incremental backup based on the USB-A Full image, the new backup will contain the changes since Monday's backup.
