Thread needs solution

how can you add a NAS Drive that is not physically attached to my laptop as a Disk Source for backup?

Thanks!

A NAS (Network attached storage) will be connected to your router, your laptop will then see the networked NAS via a wired or wireless connection your laptop has to the router, once the NAS is mapped ATI will recognise the NAS as a disk being able to be used for backup location.

Given that you have to ask this question would suggest to me you need to read up a bit more on the process, because you are about to move into an area that doesn't tolerate mistakes.

Hi there, I am using ATI 2013 and when I want to save my pc data on my Synology, I can see in the Nas area (just under ftp section) and its name but when I click on it, I can't see any files nor can I click anything :s. I am forced to use FTP and not the Nas connection. What have I to do to be able to use the Nas connection directly (SMB is on, so what did I do wrong - it worked before on Win7 - If I am not mistaken)?

Thanks in advance

When using ATI with a network drive, use a UNC path to to your NAS device for a backup destination, not a typical friendly "mapped" drive.
e.g.
\\192.168.2.25\My Backups\

I believe it may also be possible to use a UNC path that includes server name rather than IP, such as
\\server1\My Backups\

Hi, thanks for the answer. When ask to choose a destination, I can either choose a drive, a network storage or a Nas (as you can see in the attachment). The problem is that it works perfectly with the 192.168.1.3 FTP selection that acronis detects but I cannot select any folder, because it displays nothing in the Nas section. I only see its name Ricad and that's it. There's no files, folder, etc. available :( The ok or next button remains grey. Even when I enter the UPC, it says no such file directory or something like that. I really don't get it that it sees my Nas but that he doesn't share the files.

Have you shared the folders you want?
Can you browse the contents of those folders using Windows Explorer?
