Cloning C: disk hangs
I read the form trouble reports and tried their solutions. Running win7 Prof. x64 and when trying to clone the system disk, both from windows or the recovery disk (built from iso download), the program hangs on the dos reboot after about 3 or 4 dots. (Acronis reloading). I've tried all disk configurations - (usb)- (internal drives) - (external Sata) - (switched the C drive with the blank drive). Both disks are the same size. If this doesn't work I want a refund and will continue to use version 2009 which works correctly.

Intel second gen i7, intel wired keyboard, intel wired mouse. asus motherboard. I built the PC and it ran ok with version 2009. All software upgrades installed. 4 gb memory. I left for several hrs. to see if it was doing something and came back without results. The PC is several years old and has no problems. I know that the .... indicate a process but it hangs for some reason. I had the C as external and blank in it's place. That should work in all cases.

Tom,
If you are doing a clone from the Rescue Media, the system should not have to restart before the clone operation begins.
When exactly are you getting the ... (during the boot process when loading the Rescue Media?) Are you able to boot to the Rescue Media correctly, and start True Image?

I just went back and used the rescue disk again. When I select the program it then shows your patent screen and resets to the Acronis logo with three dots and hangs (black background). I never gets to the disk selection. Same screen i get with windows after the disk selection.
The curser drops down after the dots one line to the left. I checked for disk activity and there is none.
I have all sata drives. There are the usual ide positions on the motherboard that are not in use and have no cables. My first disk is #3 and the first SATA (C).

This looks like the same problem, both using the Rescue Media, and the Windows application when restarting during the clone procedure.
Apparently the Acronis 2013 Linux version recovery environment (which tries to load at boot time when doing a clone from within Windows, as well as from the Rescue Media at boot time) is having problems with detection of your hardware and preventing the Linux version from starting up. There must be some difference in the Linux kernel used in 2009 and 2013. Others on the forums have had similar issues with the 2013 Recue Media when older Rescue Media seems to work okay.
I don't have a workaround for you. You could contact Acronis support and see if they will help, or request a refund and wait for the next release of 2013 and download the trial Rescue Media ISO when it is updated to see if that corrects the problem.
Sorry I can't be of more assistance. Maybe someone else has some ideas for you.

Thanks, The problem might be related to the blank IDE positions I just mention above. After reading all web input I didn't think it would be resolved and already asked for a refund. I'll be back after I see a fix. Thanks for your time.
