WHS 2011 - A possibly dumb question
I can certainly try this when I get home, but I'm mobile today and thought I'd ask the forum in case someone's had this situation before.
My home (office) network has 3 computers and a dedicated server with about 2T of storage and WHS 2011. This will be a long enough post without going through the reasons, but I have decided to migrate to ATI 2013 and Plus Packs. I also have a 2T USB external drive, BUT, the question is this:
Shouldn't I be able to uninstall the WHS Connector software from each computer (to 'kill' the client/server link) and use the server, (still retaining WHS 2011 as its OS) and use that for ATI 13 as NAS?
What say you?

Thanks. I'm going to fiddle with it today.
Just out of curiosity, what did you use for hardware? Did your convert your WHS server with something like FreeNAS or start over. I'm curious about the OS. I'm running Win 7 Pro 64 bit everywhere.

Update, not that anyone's following this thread. :-) I ended up purging everything off my server and installed Win 8 Pro, which works just fine as server software for my small network; a laptop and three desktops. Plus, I got it for $40 since I had tested the pre-release version last year.
