Theo,

What build of 2012 are you using?

Has 2012 worked previously and suddenly started giving you this error message?

Have you tried running Microsoft ' chkdsk /r ' from a command prompt? If disk 1 is the ddrive that contains the operating system, Windows will need to reboot to run checkdisk.

Your post has slipped into the Acronis Security forum, could you edit your post and transfer it to the Acronis Home Older programs forum where more users will see it. To transfer the thread there will be a drop down box to the top left of the text box, from here you can selec the forum to transfer the thread to.

Colin,

Thank you for your feedback.
I just have installed a new Synology Nas and I get the same error message.

Theo,

The error you are receiving is from the drive being backed up (the source drive), not the backup destination (target drive).
As MVP Colin B has suggested, you should run chkdsk /r on each of the source hard drives in your system to check and repair any errors found.
This normally corrects the error you are receiving.

James,

I have already tried to run chkdsk/r from a command prompt.
In Windows 7 I am logged in as an administrator, but I still get the message I have not enough rights to run chkdsk.

Open an elevated command prompt by clicking on the Windows Start button and type CMD.exe and in the list that appears, right-click on the CMD.exe item and select "run as administrator". Then issue the command again. If you have more than one drive in your system, run the command on each drive one at a time. IE: chkdsk c: /r, chkdsk d: /r, etc. This will take some time, so be patient.
