full partition backup does'nt backup every user data
Hi,
i'm running windows 8 and i did a full partition backup after the installation. We are two users on this computer (me and my girlfriend). Can somebody explain me why Acronis does not backup her files (c:User/her profile name).
i had the same issue on win 7 before.
i am the administrator of this computer
thanks
Simon

There is also the possibility that her data is being included and stored in a place where you have not looked.
Mount the backup image and search for some specific files.
As MVP Tuttle has stated, if the backup was a disk or partition backup (not a files only backup), the data should be stored on the disk.

her files are on the same partition.
mine are on C:user/Simon
hers are on C:user/Vero
mounting the backup image is the way that i saw that her profile was not included in the backup.

I am wondering whether this could be a limitation of the drivers that mount the image and how they enforce windows security.
Simon,
When you use ATI to explore the backup (launch ATI, click on the gear menu of the task to find explore all version), do you see the folder in the backup?

I have tried to duplicate this issue on a Windows 8 system, and I can't seem to re-create this issue.
When I double-click or mount an image of the "C" drive on my system, I can plainly see (and restore) all the user accounts on my system.
Pat L and Simon,
the "Explore all versions" (as in 2012) has been renamed to "Recover files" in 2013, and is only available if the backup was a disk/partition backup.
If the backup was created in file/folder mode, you would select the "Recover" button on the right hand side of the task..

I wonder if this is a permissions issue, that the user account is present in the backup but the OP just cannot view it.

Just thinking out loud and wondering.......
If the TrueImage installation was installed for one user and not installed for all users, could this be part of the issue?

When I installed ATI2013 on Windows 7, there was no such option. There was no choice to install for a single user or all users, so it appears to install for all users by default.

if i double-click on the .tib file in windows file explorer, I can see both user folders.
if i mount the .tib in ATI 2013, there is only my folder there...
Seems to be a permission issue but it's definitly bizarre.
recovering file with the file explorer is so much longer in comparison with mounting the .tib file
thanks for your help
