Replacing Hard Disk - Dissimilar hardware Issue potentially

Thread needs solution

Hi friends,

One quick question that came to my mind. We have acronis PLUS for restore to dissimilar hardware. However my question is when we are restoring to a new hard disk from a back up image (all other things hardware remianing same); is it still not a case of restore to dissimilar hardware as the new hard disk constitutes new hardware and may be from different brand and size?

Do we need to use plus pack for such cases?

To restore to a new hard disk connected in the same way as the original (same hard disk controller, in the original system), the Universal Restore feature (in the Plus Pack) is not needed, even if switching to an SSD from a standard HDD. Changing CPU type (AMD vs Intel), hard disk controller (Intel vs. Marvel vs. AMD, etc.), video graphics cards (NVidia vs. AMD), etc., would be the main reason that Plus Pack Universal Restore would need to be used. The Plus Pack does add some additional features such as Dynamic drive support, and the ability to create WinPE (Windows based) Rescue Media, that can provide additional value to those needing these features.
