Is USB 3.0 supported when "CD boot" cloning from internal SATA to external SATA
I created a CD boot disk and want to use it to clone my Windows 7 SATA HD to an external SATA through a SATA to USB 3 adapter. Does TrueImage 2013 support USB 3? I couldn't find anything in the KBs. Also, is there anything I should be wary of? Thanks...

Thanks. As you suggest, I think I will just create a full backup image to an old drive and then restore from there to the new faster drive I bought. The original drive will be a good bootable backup if I need it. This gets around the cloning issue which I am leary of anyway. I seem to remember that I might have to turn off Norton Tamper Protection. Hmmm!

I have had the same problem - with my sony duo 11 inch running windows 8 home edition. I can't even run the recovers to a external drive and have no idea why - I would like to clone the drive as there is more than one partition on the drive and I don't trust the backup will restore it as its meant to be. A clone is much simpler! I have asked for a refund as it certainly doesn't do as it says on the tin

There is no valid reason to distrust a disk/partition backup and restore. It ends up as the same result as clone, but is safer and more flexible.

Actually, it really is not. To do it safely you must swap disks first, not after. A backup and restore is safer.
Plus, your post seemingly has nothing to do with the subject of this thread.

Tuttle,
Let me add to your statement & confirm the use of USB 3.
I have an add on card from SIIG installed - JU-P40212-S1 R. It runs a WD 3 tb My Book USB 3.0 drive.
This drive is used primarily to save an additional copy of my reserve weekly backups.
Acronis True Image Home 2013 recognizes this drive without any problems. I have restored from this WD USB 3.0 drive many times while I was Beta testing 2013. I do all my restore operations from the Retore-Boot disk which I highly recommend.
I have never had any success with cloning drives. However, in my 20+ years of doing backups with image creating sofware live "DriveImage", "Norton Ghost" & now Acronis TIH 2013, I can count on one hand the times the backup/restore feature has failed me. It has saved my system/s too many times to mention due to Virus, Trojan attacks or Hardware malfunctions.
Thanks for all your posts. -SLP

When can we expect an UPDATE for Home 2013????
Problems with the Try&Decide: Don't work before I have made an Repair.
Just got a USB 3.0 expansion card from Trescend and I can't make recovery anymore because the program is hanging.
Tried with the F11 and also by deactivating F11 and boot from CD.
Trescend write that the card works with Win 8.
