Why does Agent for Windows obtain Virtual Edition license?

Thread needs solution

We had;

Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server

and

Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server Virtual Edition

Then we upgraded these to version 11, did a clean installation to a new server and imported all licenses to the new AMS.

I can see both my version 10 and 11 licenses on Manage Licenses screen.

But whenever I try to install Agent for Windows on a physical server, it won't accept the license keys for Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Universal Restore for Advanced Server Upgrade (I can see there is 3 keys available, none is used).

This behavior doesn't change even if I choose "Take license keys from license server". I can see both Virtual Edition and Advanced Server licenses and it automatically chooses Virtual Edition license itself, not allowing me to choose Advanced Server license.

"And it throws a warning: There are licenses that cannot be used for installation on this machine."

On the details:

"Upgrade licenses that require the license of previous version (Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Universal Restore for Advanced Server"

"For upgrade, make sure that the license key of the previous product version is specified along with the upgrade license key."

"Make sure that the specified license key supports your operating system." (The machines I try to install Agent for Windows are Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2)

I already have all my version 10 and 11 license keys imported on license server. It doesn't help to manually enter the licenses either.

How can I proceed?

For Advanced Server you have a base license (10 Advanced Server) , universal restore addon for it (10 Advanced Server Universal Restore) and (11 Universal Restore for Advanced Server upgrade). The last one is an upgrade only for Universal Restore addon.
You need additionally "B&R 11 Advanced Server upgrade" license.
For virtual edition you have both base and upgrade licenses, they work.

When version 11 was released, our support program was valid and it was possible to upgrade three licenses to version 11 on My Products and Downloads page. I think I somehow failed to choose correct licenses to upgrade and this is the outcome.

What do you suggest to overcome this issue?

Should/Can I buy B&R 11 Advanced Server upgrade license seperately?

Otherwise I guess I just have to downgrade to version 10.

If you still have valid support program, try to upgrade the rest of B&R 10 licenses. If not, you can either renew the support program or contact support with 'customer care' issue type regarding upgrading the licenses that you missed.
