Am I blind ? Or is this not possible ?
Hello all,
I am running the True Image 2013, and recently purchased a harddrive RAID enclosure totaling 9TB of storage.
I need to make some serious backup of all my files (mostly video editing files, photos).
Previously, I have always dragged and dropped the files from the source into the backup harddrive, however I am looking for more sophisticated backup solution. Hence why I got the True Image.
I am trying to accomplish one thing, and one thing only, I will demonstrate on a simple example;
- Say I have a file with multiple folders inside and I need to make a backup of that.
- So I go and use the "File Backup" feature in Acronis, great everything is now backed up!
- Now, I add more files into the original file I backed up, and need to reflect that onto my backup drive.
- So I go into Acronis and run that previous backup again. It makes ANOTHER backup (Incremental).
That is NOT what I want, I simply wish to add whatever files I have changed in the file to the original backup I made the first time, without making another "incremental" one. And also without the need to make another FULL backup. Is this not possible ?
I hope this makes some sense.
Thank you in advance for any help!

Microsoft SyncToy or Robocopy, both free, can do what you want. Robocopy would require more setup, as you'd need to create a batch file but it's not difficult. I've used both for file-based backups, but still use True Image for system/drive imaging.
