Help with incremental backup

Thread needs solution

I have just loaded Acronis 13 and have limited IT knowledge.
I have done one full backup of my computer. I now wish to do an incremental backup. Setting is showing incremental.
Although it appears that the backup starts, I have no on screen information about the status of the backup, which I did when I did the full backup. The Acronis screen is just blank with just the headings. It also seems to be doing another full backup. I can see this by looking at the icon in the bottom right of the toolbar that says active, but has given the file a 'full' extension. I suppose I would have expected to see 'inc'? The backup drive appears to be being accessed but after 15 minutes it had only achieved 1% complete and as very little had been added I presume agains its trying to do a full.

With Acronis 11 it was so simple.

Just to be sure, when you want to do an incremental, you in fact click on the same backup task "backup now". The backup task is set as an incremental task. The first time it runs, it creates a full backup, the second time it runs it creates an incremental.
If you set up another task as incremental, it will not create an incremental on top of the first task. It will create a new full for that second task.

Are we on the same page?

I think we are now. What I did was set the task as Full and then amend to incremental for the second backup. How I understand it, is that it will always then do a Full - I should not change the task once created. I will try again this morning and see what happens.
Thx for the quick reply.

Nicholas,
An example of the incremental settings can be found at figure 11-Iinc
