Problem making an image with a RAID 1 configuration
Hello there,
I'm getting an issue using the last version of Acronis True Image 2013 on Dell's T3600 systems.
Those computers are configured with two HDD in RAID 1.
I'm Installing Windows Seven on it with the right Intel C600 controler drivers, everything running fine except when i'm booting on an Acronis TI 2013 boot device to make a image of this system on my network.
First, Acronis don't "see" the RAID system. It lists me both disk and ask me which one I want to backup (I can choose both, but i didn't try).
After the completion, the computer reboot and an error message appears leading to the point that Windows don't start at all and is not recoverable. even with the previously made image.
Two questions, is ATI2013 support Intel C600 Controler (in RAID 1 Configuration)?
Second, I wonder why the system do not start up again after a backup job (not a recovering one) ?
It is like ATI2013 modify something on bootstrap or something like that.
Please, it is important for us to have a solution.
Thanks a lot for your answers

Mathieu,
When you say Acronis boot device, are you referring to the Recovery CD or the Acronis Start Up Manager?
I would guess that Linux doesn't have the drivers for your system available to it. I think you might get further if you had the Plus Pack and either injected the RAID drivers into the Linux recovery CD or made a Windows PE version of the boot disk.
If you are within your 30 days of purchase I think raising a support request is in order, or if this is a recovery problem you are entitled to support outside the 30 day limit..

Yes it is the Acronis Recovery CD (whatever soft used to boot a computer and allow an acronis image to be loaded). And I start to understand what you mean with linux.
To sum it up, Acronis recovery software uses a kind of linux OS and it needs drivers corresponding to pieces of hardware load them, right ?
If so, my thoughts are quite simple, what is the best solution to handle new products from computers manufacturer as quick as possible with Acronis.
Is there a way to integrate new component drivers directly into the Acronis Recovery Boot CD ?

Did these two PCs come with Windows 8 preinstalled?

Do you have the Plus Pack? You could generate a Windows-7 Recovery CD with it, that may have the drivers you need. That would prove if the Linux system on the standard Recovery Media may not have the drivers.

Mathieu,
If you have UEFI boot, disable secure boot and UEFI boot in the BIOS, then enable legacy boot to use the recovery CD.
Put the settings back to what they were before booting into Windows again.
