Backup Recovery Manager with Windows 8

Thread needs solution

Hi all,
I have installed True Image 2013 on my Windows 8 Laptop and have created a backup of my C-drive and a bootable recovery CD. Afterwards I restarted my computer to check if the backup recovery manager is working (F11), but I got the following message on my screen: "Non-system disk. Press any key...". There was no disk in my laptop and after hitting any key I was not able to reach the backup recovery manager with F11 because my windows started right after I pressed the key.
Can anybody help me with this problem?
Thanks
Peter

Peter,

Do you have a GPT disk with secure UEFI boot?
If yes, don't use the ASRM, use the recovery CD> Disable both secure and UEFI boot. Enable legacy boot. Use the recovery CD. Revert to original settings in the BIOS prior to booting into Windows.
