Backup failing of Hyper-V VM located on remote file share

Thread needs solution

I have one Hyper-V VM located on a windows storage server file share that is failing to backup.

All the VM's located directly on the host are backing up OK.

The VM is running Ok so I know the remote file is accessible.

Error logs attached. The error logs indicated 'Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.' I have tried changing all the credentials on the backup plan and made sure the folder the VM is stored in has the same access credentials.

Management server is 11.5. Agent on HyperV server is 11.0 (cannot upgrade, no license)

Agent for Hyper-V (in version 11 and 11.5 RTM) supports only cluster shared volumes or local storage as VM storage. As you can see in the first error log, creating snapshot for VM's files failed because they are not located on a local volume for which a snapshot can be taken.
