Image size BR 11.5 compared to TI Server 9.7 - 40% smaller ???
Hi
i am running MS SBS2011 Server Standard (not VM)
and since now i used Acronis TI Server 9.7.
The system drive C: is 488GB with 378 GB free space.
So 110Gb is used.
In Version 9.7 i get an Fullimage of this drive, Imagesize : 52 GB.
(default, normal compression)
Now i installed the AR 11.5 Testversion (we want to upgrade to 11.5)
In version 11.5 i get an Fullimage of this drive, Imagesize : 32 Gb
of the same system drive C: (same day)
(default,normal compression)
I am confused and wonder if there is anything missing in this 11.5 image.
Since the Imagesize difference ist about 40% ....
Very unusual in my experience using imaging tools since norton ghost in the 1990ths
Both Backups run without any errors and images were and can be validated.
Can someone confirm this size difference between 9.7 and 11.5 ?
Or is there anything i could check, verify or compare ?
Thank you
Mike

Hi Fedor,
does "maybe" mean that you know for sure that acronis 11.5 does NOT include the files under
System Volume Information anymore, or is it just a guess ?
Version 11.5 is running now for a week with no errors, but the small filesize of the systemdrive
image still makes me a little nervoes.
Can anyone confirm that "system volume information" is ignored by 11.5 backups ?
Since the folder is set to a max of 49gb ... (volume shadow copies in drive properties).
and there are 44 copies available for drive c ...
The image of the data drive S: (network share) has the same size like the image made with version 9.7.
Here volume shadow copies are disabled ...
I will enable them and keep an eye on the image size ...
Thank you for your comments
Kind regards Mike

Yes, it doesn't include shadow storage into backup. http://www.acronis.com/support/documentation/ABR11.5/index.html#11853.h…
IIRC, the behavior is the same for ABR11 too, although it is not reflected in older user guides.
