Windows 8 Compatibility issue
I currently have Acronis TI Home 2011 on my 64-bit Windows 7 system. I am looking to upgrade to Windows 8, and ran the MS Windows 8 Compatibility test, which said that TI Home 2011 is not supported.
I have bought the upgrade to TI Home 2013, but am not sure if this version is backwards compatible with all my backup sets from verison 2011. I am assuming that I will still have access to my old 2011 backup data, but just asking here to be sure.. would hate to upgrade and lose access to this data.

If you upgrade, uninstall 2011, run the cleanup utility found below, reboot, install the upgrade.

I appreciate the reply, but since I bought an 'upgrade' licence for TI 2013, I believe that I need to install it with the older version in place... yes?
In any case, I installed the 2013 upgrade yesterday with 2011 in place.. are you saying I should uninstall it and reinstall it as a new 'clean' install? If so, will my upgrade license be valid without a previous version in place?
I ran a complete backup with the new 2013 version, in anticipation of upgrading to Windows 8, and the backup seemed to work fine.

Paul:
The way that the upgrade process works with Acronis is that the installer prompts you to enter the license key for the new product. If it's an upgrade then the installer will prompt you to also enter the license key for the old product. It doesn't require an existing version to be installed.
Acronis is getting its upgrade install process to be much better than in the past, so you're probably fine. Some of us veterans remember when new versions of TI moved the location of files and registry keys and the installer wasn't savvy enough to remove the old ones, so we feel better if we first completely remove the old product and then clean install the new one.
