CAN'T READ INTEL RAID 10?
I did a fresh install of Windows 7 on my MSI p55 GD85 Motherboard. This time I created a RAID 10 array. Once I was secure that I had a stable install, I created an image using TI 2013. I then created a fresh recovery CD.
Whenever I boot from the CD, it does not detect my RAID array. Indeed, it only detects two of the four drives in the array. I also note on the opening process a message that came up twice in a row that said too may drives were detected. I shall also note that, when in windows, TI sees the array and calls it a RAID 1 array, not a 10 array.
As the rescue media does not see the proper array, I cannot restore. After I exit TI, during the initial re post, the Intel RAID manager tells me that my four discs in the array are off line. I then shut down the computer and turn it back on. The RAID manager tells me the array is fine, however, the array will not boot, telling me that the files have been corrupted. The Windows Install Disc is not able to fix the damage.
As I am getting very tired of different failures in True Image, I have an image installed on an exterior drive. I boot from this one, and recover the image to my RAID 10 array from inside Windows. No problem doing that, and the array then boots fine.
I want an answer to this problem so that I can recover images from the boot cd. I am getting very tired of encountering problem after problem every time I change something. Every time I try to upgrade TI itself, it is a struggle to get it working. Indeed, I totally gave up on 2010 and 2011 and got my money refunded. I was close to doing the same with 2013, however, I basically have it working now, so I am hoping this issue gets resolved.
Signed
Really tired of hassles.

Pat L wrote:Robert,
If the default recovery CD doesn't see your RAID, your only option is to upgrade to the Plus Pack and create a WinPE-based recovery CD. Not only this uses Windows drivers that Microsoft ships in its ADK, but it also allows you to inject any driver that would be missing.
I already have the plus pack. I'd also like to clarify that I did not have the issue with RAID 0. As well, if it is a matter of TI not having the correct drivers, then everyone should be having the same problem, as Intel RAID is the very most common version out there.
That being said, I am looking for Acronis support to provide step by step, detailed instructions as to any work around. I expect these instructions to show how to create a WinPE Recovery CD and how to "inject" any missing drivers.
I realize that you are not an Acronis employee, so, I do not expect you to provide this info. I would like to see Acronis step to the plate for a change and actually provide proper support.
As an aside, I found a complete article of someone in the business with the same issue, and employing the same work around I did, a complete O/S on another drive to be used to do the recovery from within Windows. That article can be found at the following address.

It is a bit weird that it was working with a RAID 0 but not with a RAID 10. The driver is the same.
Anyway, for good instructions on how to create a WinPE disk, you can simpy follow the help file, or follow this excellent post: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/35238
It is for the Windows 8 ADK though.

Hello Everyone,
Thank you for your posts and I appreciate your help Pat.
Robert, we have your case in our system and we will need to investigate this issue. I would really appreciate if you could provide us with this information, I will add it to the case.
I would agree with Pat's recommendation for creating WinPe bootable media as a temporary workaround.
Please let us know if you need additional help.
Thank you.
