HP Pavilion p7-1451 Bios issue

Thread needs solution

I have a complete backup on a 1 TB HDD. In windows 8, I use the software to start the restore from the USB Image. It begins restoring the image then does a restart. It say there is an issue with the security signature of something, not sure what. Went into the bios and turned of security and set it to boot from a DVD that true image made. I refuses to boot from the DVD. The issue is with the bios have huge security setup conditions. Set it up for legacy support and tried to use a usb stick and security would not let it run. The bios is a monster and hard to setup so it even looks at the usb or DVD drives. I have tried the F11 but that places me in windows 8 restore feature not true image system restore. This is not like win 7 where I used true image for years.
Thanks LaMar

LaMar,

First, it is advisable to always perform a system disk recovery from the recovery media so that Windows cannot muddy the waters.

At the moment, there is no workaround for trying to recover a system drive from within windows as TI has to reboot into Linux which at the moment cannot cope with the new Secure Boot system implimented by Microsoft. I'm afraid you have at the moment little choice but to use either a recovery CD/USB stick, disable Secure Boot in the HP BIOS (if it has that option) and switch the UEFI entry to Legacy or CM mode, remembering to switch everythying back once the recovery has been done.

Because of the Linux restriction at this time you will not be able to use the True Image Acrois recovery Manager either. It might be possible to make a WinPe 4 True Image file converted ot a VHD and have that added to the Win8 boot menu (I haven't tried this as yet).

Don't forget if your disk dies you will need to use either the recovery CD/USB stick to recover your system anyway.
