For my PC i am looking for a batch file who starts my backup to an external hard drive.
maybe someone could help me.
Thanks

Which version of Windows?

Which version/build of TrueImage?

Is this backup creation to be manual or scheduled or both?

Hello GroverH,
The version is 2010 Home Edition.
The backup should be started manually with an alias on the Desktop.
Thank you
Jörg

Here is one shortcut for your reference.

You did not indicate which version of Windows is in use.The location of the "homeservice.exe" varies by versions of Windows. Adjust your shortcut based on version of Windows in use. Your missing link reference listed in post #1 is listed below as a attachment link. I happened to have a copy of it.
---------------------------
This is an example of shortcut for 2009

For example, this is the path used to create an XP Pro desktop shortcut for version 2009:
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageHomeService.exe" /script:"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts\7979927F-8CB0-4380-ACE5-53DE74528036.tib.tis" This command line of information can be pasted from Notepad directly into a desktop shortcut; or Windows scheduled task; or batch file; or cmd file. (Substitute your path and your unique script id in place of this script id).

Here is the location of TrueImageHomeService.exe based on a specific version of Windows.

XP x86:
ATIH 2010, ATIH 2009, ATIH 11.0:
Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageHomeService.exe"
Scripts: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts\"

Windows 7 x86:

Jörg.

You re correct that a desktop shortcut can be a simple solution to the creation of backup. Another piece to that puzzle is the management of those backups--how many to keep or delete or rename, etc. One easy solution to the dilemma of this maintenance is to implement the free program "Chain2Gen" (C2G) written by MVP OracleDBA.

I would suggest that you investigate the informtion provided below.
You would need to create the batch file (prior post) to create the backups and then C2G can handle the rest.

One important item to note is that after the desktop shortcut is created, the very first backup must be created from within the Aconis program via the "BACKUP NOW" option. The subsequent backup can be done via the desktop shortcut.

The C2G concept is that TrueImage creates the backups but C2G does the retention rules of how many backup to keep via its C2G parameters file.
