Persistent W00040011 message "Please insert the disk marked volume 1

Thread needs solution

Well I believe up to this point I have tried everything, but I'm hoping for some help.

I'm using Acronis 11 to backup my systems at home. The back-up archives are stored on a NAS server.

The first time required a "full" backup, then consequently Acronis recommended to perform "incremental" backups from that point on. To this point I have 1 full backup and 4 incrementals.
All these backup archives are stored in the same folder on the NAS server.

As luck would have it, the HD failed in my system, but not to worry I had made backups.
Trying to restore has proven impossible. I can go back to the first full archive, but that is all.
Any attempt to use the incremental always results in the message "Please insert the disk marked volume 1"

I've even moved the files to a local hard-drive, but get the same messages. When trying to validate the archives, I get the same message.

I have no idea what I may be doing wrong...any help is greatly appreciated.

Bart,

Are you using True Image Home v11 or v2011?

There message you are receiving is normally when one of the backup files is missing or damaged.

You could try and move the full and the first incremental in the chain to a new location (local drive or USB/eSATA connected), then try to validate the backup set with just the two files. If the validation fails with just these two files, you are probably out of luck with anything other than the first full backup. If you are successful with the full and the first incremental, copy the second incremental to the new location, and try the validation again.. Same with the third incremental.

Since the full backup seems to be okay, I would have to suggest that one or more of the incremental backup files is corrupt or missing.

Recovery/restore support is available from Acronis support at no charge.
