have a VM with 3 vmdk: one with 40Gb and 2 with big disk 2Tb
on storage no free space to create a snapshot

Hi Ilin,
In order to successfully back up this VM you need to first ensure that quiesced snapshot can be created properly for it from vSphere client (right-click on VM->Snapshot->Take Snapshot-> check "quiescing" option and uncheck "memory" option). The snapshotting is crucial for proper backup operation and in your case the error is returned from VMware itself: "An error occurred while quiescing the virtual machine. See the virtual machine's event log for details" (it doesn't seem to be related to lack of free space on datastore) . In general the issue usually can be revealed by checking the Windows event logs from inside this VM - there must be some VSS writers failing or for example VSS is not triggered at all.
