backup fails with: Internal error: number of backed up sectors differs from counted

Thread needs solution

Volume Backup Fails everytime with the same error, as shown below. Fileback up is working fine.
The Volume is a ReFS Windows Server 2012. VSS is verified only Microsoft.

On the volume several VMs nfo VM workstation are stored, but during backup all VMs are off.

Any idea ?

Thanks

ReFS is not supported yet (in Backup&Recovery 11.5 build 32208). You may try back in up in sector-by-sector mode.

Sorry - I'm not used of this softwAre. How to setup this sector by sector backup, what would be the disadvantage to use this option ?

Thanks
Kai

Kai,

Sector by sector image will result in an image that is the same size as the drive you are imaging, that is the major disadvantage of this method.

To select Sector by Sector do the following.

1. Select 'Create Backup Plan'

2. Under the heading at the bottom of the page under 'Plan Parameters' , click on Backup Options.

3. Scroll down towards the bottom of th epop up forum and highlight Sector-by-sector backup.

4. I n the right hand panel tick the option and click OK.

5. Fill out the rest of the page as required.

Okay - thanks very much for this information, sector-by-sector doesnt make too much sense for me. I will stay with the file backup for the time beeing. I have seen that BETA Acronis® Backup & Recovery 11.5 for Microsoft SQL Server® already indicates support for ReFS volumes, any plan to implement this also for the normal version of backup & recovery 11.5 ? Or can I use the Beta version ?

Regards
Kai

Hello Kai Uwe,

Thank you for your reply.

The used version in the beta program will be available as an update. The new Agent for SQL is the only new agent and will be available for Customers that purchase this new Agent or an Upgrade for the previous version of Acronis Recovery for MS SQL Server. However, the support for Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 will be available in all versions of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5.

If there is anything else we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.
