The memeory used by process mms.exe of Acronis B&R 10 Advanced WorkStation Agent is over 500MB and can't be uninstalled.

Thread needs solution

Last week, I got a problem on our Windows XP Professional X64 WorkStation. I found a process named mms.exe used over 500MB memory. The process mms.exe is Acronis B&R 10 Advanced Workstation Agent. I considered this condition is innormal, because others just used about 40MB. I wanted to reinstall the agent with "Add/Remove Programms" in "control panel" before, but it can't be uninstalled and showed me an error as following:

"Windows Installer Service can't be accessed, It often happens in Windows Safe Mode. Please contact your support assistant."

I'm sure the Windows Installer Service was started and restarted normally.

Now how should I do to resolve this trouble?

Thank you for your help.

Does it use such amount every time after restart or it just was left for long enough? I also assume that you had rebooted before attempting to uninstall, if not, then do it.

It use such amount every time after restart. And it will keep the state all the time. It still can't be uninstalled after rebooting.
