Can't backu-up networked harddrive to the cloud

Thread needs solution

Hello--

I have a Western Digital 1 TB external harddrive that is hooked up to my computer through the network (Mybooklive). When I try to back-up to the cloud, a networked device isn't available on the pick list. Does that mean I can't back-up to the cloud from my networked harddrive? Is there a workaround for this? That was kind of the whole point of getting cloud space and is a dealbreaker for me if I can't do it. Thanks.

Nevermind! Had to map the network drive on the server computer. I had done it already on client laptops, so I missed this. Am backing up now. :)
