Cannot install True Image Home 2011 Upgrade anymore

Thread needs solution

I'd wish to install True Image Home 2011 Upgrade product on the same computer it was installed and removed previously.

Once the installer is launched I'm asked to enter the previous product serial number, and I'm entering my legit Acronis True Image 11 Home serial, however the installer refuses the serial stating

"The serial number is incorrect. Make sure that the serial number contains...." blablabla.

I have already installed this on the same machine, same OS same serials. Why the installer is refusing this?

Depending upon if 2011 was an upgrade to 2010. You will also need the 2010 serial numbers if the 2011 was not a standalone purchase..
Read the screen carefully to make sure you are entering the serial for the version year specified.
Your serial numbers can also be accessed from you Acronis registration page--if you registered your purchase.
This same list will indicate the type of purchase--whether upgrade.

Be sure and copy and paste these numbers into the serial window. Do not try and type each letter of the 64 number serial.

Grover, I had previuosly installed True Image Home 2011 successfully over True Image 11 Home.... What happened in the while? Did acronis changed the policy?

Basically, if the new install is a full version, no old serial is needed.
If the new install is an upgrade version, then both the new and old serial needed.
If doing a repair, perhaps only one new serial would be needed.

If the original base program was the old version 11 (not 2011), you may need assistance by Acronis support as the version serial number length was less than the current 64 characters.

You can confirm the accuracy of your serial numbers by visiting your personal Acronis account records. This is an example of 2013 but the procedure would be the same for 2011,

I really can't remember how did I pass successfully this; maybe I have performed a full install, while now I am attempting to install the upgrade.
I'm not sure where I can find the full install

If you logon to your Acronis account, you can get the serial numbers for all the products you're registered for. There is a tab labeled "Get All Serials" that will save them in a file called "serials.txt".

I have used those serials:
old serial: True Image 11 Home
new serial: True Image Home 2011

When entered the old serial, the installer states it is not valid :-(

Riccardo,

Download this installer for 2011 and try with the serial numbers you have:
http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/link/?ATIH2011_trial_en-U…

If this installer is used with your serial numbers, it will NOT be a trial install, but a full retail copy.

I will install ATIH 2011 Build 6942 on a test computer today, using the "old" key from True Image Home 11, and see what happens. I'll report back!

The reason I suggested above to download your keys (serial numbers) from the Acronis website was to verify your key didn't somehow get changed. Crazy things happen sometimes!
