Know I'm beginning to remember to remember why I bailed on Acronis the last time. Error messages with little to no support provided by Acronis. What exactly does this error message mean? Has anyone out there encountered it and or fixed it? Thanks.

I have Windows 7 x64 Ultimate and was just trying to do a routine back up of the "C" drive. I have no clue what those errors can possibly mean.

Do you see any message in the log?

I got that message I pasted from the log. Here's the entire log. Also see attached.

OK. ATI found your archive corrupted, or at least the validation is failing.
There are 2 main reason for this:
a- The archive is actually corrupted
Are you using auto-consolidation? Did you delete any file, intermediary TIB file or other? Did you interrupt the backup for any reason? Could the backup have been interrupted?
b- The archive chain is good but the validation failed
The validation might have been interrupted, or there is some hardware problem that prevents the validation from happening normally.
First, let's try to validate your last known good archive. Validate the last *full*. See if the validation goes through.
1) If it doesn't, try to mount the image or double-click on it using windows explorer. If you cannot open it, the archive is bad. See 2) below. If you can open it, the archive is probably good, but the validation process fails. In this case, run a memtest86 on your computer, verify your disk connections, run a chkdsk -r on the backup disk. Fix as appropriate.
2) If it does, then the backup chain has been compromised. Delete your backup task and set up a new task. Validate again.

There is no consolidation going on. I'm trying to make a new clean image. I've also run a Western Digital diagnostics test on the hard drive to make sure there were no errors on it. I just tried to validate the last good image and it also failed. Prior to upgrading to this latest version the image that just failed passed validation.
What the heck is going on here?

There is the possibility that the archive is actually corrupted. Can you mount the "corrupted image"?

Hello,
i have exactly the same problem as Baba Booey. I have created an image on my H-drive. The validation to this image give me 2 errors 0x000101F6+0x00070020. I can mount this image without any problems. Can you tell me, how can i find out what is the problem or what is the reason for the validation errors ?
Thx a lot form Pointer

Hi Baba, I had the same problem with ATIH2013 that was caused by a defective RAM module, I suggest you to test RAM extensively (I used MemTest 86+ v. 4.20) and if you get error to replace it as I did and now restore & validation are working fine.
Good luck
