Automatic shutdown after scheduled backup not working?

Thread needs solution

I have TI 2013 (latest) running on Windows 7 x64.

I have a scheduled daily backup which runs in the early hours of the morning (2am). It's supposed to shutdown windows after it has finished (ticked "Shutdown computer after backup complete")

However, when I check my PC in the morning, Windows is still running. The backup had completed. As soon as I went into TI Windows then shuts down?

Does the main TI program have to be running? Have I got a setting missing? How do I get the shutdown to work correctly?

Thanks
Mark

There are a number of possibilities of why this isn't working, one of course being that TI seems to have problems itself in this area.

Check that there are no other utilities tthat run in the background are preventing shutdown.

The easiest workaround for this problem is to make a script file that True Image runs after it has finished imaging, which closes the PC down. You would untick the Acronis shutdown option and run the following cmd script in the post task option.

See Grovers' post for more details. With Windows 7 you should make the CMD version of the file.

Here is a more uptodate posting using the same basic procedure.

Thanks Colin and GroverH.

I'm going to try the GroverH shutdown cmd method tonight.

Good. Glad it worked for you.
