Constant BSOD on startup, unable to uninstall software for BSOD boot loop in all modes
I find it ironic that the very software I use to back my computer up is causing me the most trouble. I've been using Acronis products for some time without complaint. I upgraded from 10 to 11.5 some months back and performed a clean install. I started having random BSOD's on boot regarding the snapman.sys. This has been brought up on these forums and I've researched what resolutions I could find here.
Here is what my current situation is. I've updated to the latest release version as of March 2013. I still have snapman.sys BSODs. In fact I had FIVE of them just trying to start the ##@! computer this time. I tried to uninstall my previous version this morning before upgrading to the newest version. The result was the computer would BSOD in every mode. I did a full clean uninstall from Windows. I had the same result when I tried to follow the forced uninstall referenced in another thread. Even after deleting all the registry key references as indicated, BSOS in every mode.
I have to restore back to my last good back up. So...I'm very frustrated now. Heck I even bought a copy of newest version of Disk Director and it doesn't work at all. I did uninstall it. It was purchased at the same time as the 11.5 upgrade. I had them both installed for a time, and disk director wouldn't show any information on the drives. I figure I'm just out that $.
So now what? I've got the newest version on my system. I can't uninstall it, and I still have constant BSODs?
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I can't get you a log as the BSOD happens on boot. I could try to remove the snapman.sys but that defeats the purpose of having the scheduled backup doesn't it?
Very frustrated. I work in IT for a living. The last thing I want to do is have to fight these issues on my home computer on the fricken weekend.

Contact support and either - first update snapman to the last version and if it doesn't help collect this memory dump - http://kb.acronis.com/content/17639 - anyway. You can first enable memory dump on the clean machine and try install snapman separately after it.

Thanks for the reply. My system is configured for full memory dump however, that doesn't help my present situation as the BSOD happens on boot up. No memory dump is created. I can take a picture of it with my phone, but there are many other reports of this issue with various versions of this software on different operating systems.
What is the latest version of snapman.sys and where can I obtain it? The version I have located under C:\Windows\System32\drivers has date stamp of 10/6/2012, is 332KB in size and a version number of 4.4 build 1201.
Thanks!

Most reported cases BSOD at boot related to Acronis software is BSOD of type 7B and are caused by missing snapman.sys and/or snapman reference in services (usually after cleanup attempt) while it's still present in disk filters. In this case it BSODs every time at boot. However, as I understood it, you are able to boot the computer successfully on some occasions, so it's a different case.
The latest version is 4.5.something and as it's not public, you can obtain it only through the support.
