True Image 2011 and Uncommanded Backup

Thread needs solution

Hi there,

I back my computer up on demand (i.e. I don't schedule any automatic backups). I have been noticing from time to time my computer slowing down significantly, a dialogue box coming up at the bottom right hand side of the screen stating with words to the effect 'Acronis is starting a back up', followed by a dialogue box saying words to the effect 'Acronis back up has failed'.

How can I stop this and avoid the slow down in computer performance?

Thanks,

Kylie & Jason

There a couple of possible explanations:
a) you have a rogue task in the Acronis task scheduler. Download the task scheduler manager here and follow the instructions to ZAP all your task. Then just add the schedule back,
b) you have a scheduled task (either a backup or a validation) that is scheduled, and, in the advanced options of the scheduler, you have some options checked to run a missed backup when the computer starts, when a disk is connected (for a file backup).

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

I presume you meant the scheduler manager here: . I downloaded it, ran it, and typed "task zap". I just rang it from my downloads directory - should I have moved it to the directory that contains Acronis TI 2011?

I'll see how it goes. Thank you!
