New User: LOST
I'm a new user, and am almost completely lost. I found a web page from which I copied some seemingly simple steps:
A. GETTING STARTED
1. I just purchased Acronis True Image 2011 Home. What steps should I take to use this software?
a. Register your serial number
b. Download the latest version from the registration site.
c. Install the software (an un-install of a prior version may be necessary)
d. Create a new Bootable Media. Add version, build & serial number to CD label.
e. Boot from the bootable media
f. Perform a disk option backup which includes all partitions.
g. Perform some type of test restore from backup file to assure a recovery is possible.
HOWEVER, after I got done with step 1e (I did succeed in booting from the CD-ROM), I realized that these instructions were for the 2011 version, not for the 2013 version. Is it ok to proceed with the old directions, or has 2013 changed something?
Here's my data storage configuration:
C: System, SSD, 27.3 GB free of 111 GB
D: System Backup, 92.9 GB free of 139GB
E: Data, 732 GB free of 931 GB (backup critical files on Mozy)
F: Data Backup: same type disk as E. XCOPY of E: to F:
G: Spare disk, all 139 GB free
How should I proceed. I'm sorta lost.

If you downloaded your copy of 2013 via the Acronis website, you won't need to redownload as that will be the latest build. Only people who purchase a CD need to download from their account before installing.
Other than that the instructions are the same as far as installing and checking that the recovery CD will boot your system and see all your drives.
I should add, if you are intending to make images rather than file backups, make sure you make a complete disk image not just a single partition one. You will know you have selected the correct option as you will just see the manufactuer names of your disks in stead of the individual partitions listed. Also, make sure you give your partitions names (lables in Microsoft speak) this will make it easier when recovering partitions when booted form the recovery CD.
