Cloning laptop HD to external USB HD

Thread needs solution

I need help with the following:

I have a new Dell laptop and am looking to upgrade the hard drive. I have the new, larger, hard drive in an external USB enclosure for the time being which after cloning I plan on installing into the laptop and booting from. When I boot to ATI and attempt to clone the existing, internally installed hard drive and get to the point where you select the destination disk the new hard drive is grayed out and not selectable.

Is what I'm attempting possible with ATI?

I have attached a screen shot of what I'm experiencing (it was taken from inside Windows 8 but the same behavior is observed when booting directly into ATI)

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

If any disk is GFT, the new 6514 is having issues with GFT disks. We are awaiting a hotfix.
