Boot Screen Gibberish text after 'Starting Acronis loader' where F11 should show on WinXP
Hi have installed Update 1 Ok on Win7 no issues however on my Win XP PC the boot screen message "Starting Acronis Loader ..." rather than F11 I get 'Starting acronis Loader....@$%^^%$#$' etc for about 80 characters of garbage symbols and then PC hangs. If I press ESC or F1 it will continue to boot ok.
I have removed the Acronis Startup recovery manager and PC boots ok. Have re-applied booted and error returns.
So I did a repair with the 2013 Update and tried again it still same error.
How do I fix was OK before the Update 1 was applied?

Hello everyone!
Mr. Anthony Wakefield, could you please create system report after Startup Recovery Manager activation and send it to us. Please, generate as shown http://kb.acronis.com/content/34324 and then sent it to me per private message.
James, thanks for your help again!
Kind regards,
Sergey

I'm having this same problem! Except my jibberish isn't 80 characters long:
"Starting Acronis Loader...}-}-}-}-}6ç˧(a square happy face symbol)ê&t"
Computer stops at this point. If I enter, Windows 7 loads. This was not happening before I checked for updates and updated my program. :(
Can you please help? I don't know what's going on.
Thank you!

Cindi,
This is an issue with the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager (ASRM) in build 6514 of True Image 2013.
Open True Image 2013 and go to the Tools and Utilities tab, and deactivate the ASRM. Leave it turned off until a new build of 2013 is released.
If you haven't create bootable Rescue Media (CD/DVD/USB Flash drive) do so, and then boot to it to be sure it works on your system.
The Rescue Media can perform all of the tasks that the ASRM can perform.

Thank you! I turned off ASRM and recreated the Rescue Media.

Hi Sergey,
Sent System Report.
I built a new recovery CD & booted that then removed Acronis Recovery Manager and then re-applied Recovery Manager. The boot menu is now OK and F11 works. I have tried this with the installed Acronis Update but same error stayed.
Regards Tony

ASRM showing same Problems here, gibberish Looks like Chinese/Japanese characters to me.
So ASRM is not available at this time -- I can't do an automatic restart. Is there no temporary fix (rather than disableing and relying on rescue media?

Do you still reject that option (disable ASRM and use bootable Rescue Media) even if we tell you that's the better option? I recommend against ASRM, and did so even before this recent bug. Bootable Rescue Media is the way to go.

I am just wondering. If the advent of Acronis 2014 is coming, if all our problems will be solved if we bought 2014. And...who might encourage us to have problems? I also cannot view with Explorer and open up a TIB file to view it. That's along with that F-11 deal.
