Preserving partition size during recovery with True Image Home V 11.0
How can I preserve the partition size of the original disk? I have backed up an entire (bootable) drive to a .tib archive and I want to write the image to a fresh hard drive installed in a USB enclosure, but TIH always wants to expand the image to fill the entire disk. It used to preserve the partition size, but now it won't. I don't know what's changed, I'm using the same image file that I've always used.
The new drive will boot and run just fine.

Thanks Grover,
Yes, I'm sure it's V11.0 - From Help>About ... "Acronis® True Image Home® version 11.0 (build 8,101)"
I downloaded and looked at your presentation "Grover's V11-8101 How to Backup & Restore Screen show " (Thanks) and the procedure I use is the same, except I don't usually select Data Validation. I tried it and it still wants to expand the partition (see attached image).
The tib files that I use have just one partition, about 8 Gb. They contain Windows XPE OS (XPE is XP "Embedded") that I use for touch screen systems used in manufacturing. I have different image files for the different mother boards and software versions that are used.
As I mentioned, it used to preserve the partition size, so I'm assuming that I've inadvertently changed something, but I can't figure out what. I've even tried a new install of TIH on another PC with a fresh install of XP Pro, but the result is the same.
Thanks again :)

Each picture is numbered in upper right corner of picture.
Start out with a clean target disk such as using the "'Add new disk" option.
The new disk should be all unallocated space.
Download the above pdf file. You can review the file but what is specific to you is pictures
11-2; 11-4 through 11-10.
..In 11-4, select only the Mbr/track 0.
...In 11-7, select only your OS Drive C
....Adjust your partition size via the procedure shown in picture 11-10.
next jump to pictures 11-24, 11-25, 11-26 which are also specific to you.
26 summary should show 2 items.
MBR being restored and the list of C being restored to whatever size you configured in 11-10
Upon completion, shutdown and reboot with only the new disk attached.
