True Image 2013 - Sync between home & work pcs says it is working, but files not showing up

Thread needs solution

Hi!

I purchased True Image 2013 in April to backup my home computer to a backup drive and recently added a license to synchronize a folder between my work computer and my home computer.

I followed the instructions to create a Sync between two computers for a folder with less than 500MB of data in it. Today I "Joined" the sync from the work computer, selected a folder for the files to sync to, and then Acronis stated that the sync had completed fine.

However when I go into the folder I selected for the sync there are no files in it.

Both the work computer and the home computer are Windows 7 64bit Ultimate computers.

Any idea why the folders say they are synchronized just fine and yet the files are NOT actually showing up? No I am not using the cloud.

Thanks!
Erin

Erin,

Are there any errors or warnings showing in the log?

Are the two folders set up as a shared folder as far as Windows is concerned?

There are errors showing today from the work pc that it can't connect to the sync server and will try again later, although it does show the home pc in the list of participants so I think it was working this weekend. I think the home pc might have went to sleep which is why it can't connect right now.

They have to be setup as shared folders in windows? Share with everyone or is there an Acronis user it needs to be shared with, or..?

Thanks for your help!
Erin

For PC to PC, it needs to be shared in Windows. If it goes via the web then you only need to have the two PC joined and listed on the Sync webpage.

It is going via the web. I just don't have cloud service.
Both PCs are listed in the sync webpage. One pc is at my work location and one is at home.
They both say they are syncronized and that the sync completes successfully, however no files are transferred.

Do I have to pay for cloud storage for them to sync from two different locations?

I thought as long as both computers were online, the Acronis sync web page would synchronize the files?

I'm not sure, I have previously synched my PC and laptop, but I might have had cloud access at the time, i don't at the moment, so I'll give it a try tomorrow evening for you.
