Unable to mount partition

Thread needs solution

I'm using True Image 2013 to mount a partition within an image created by True Image 2013 - Acronis issues this message:

Cannot assign a drive letter to a partition from the backup archive.

Set-up:
Windows 7 Professional - 64 bit
TIB file is located on a 4TB Seagate Backup Plus drive - NTFS
Latest version of True Image 2013

Thanks for the help.

As an alternative to mounting the archive, can you just double click the .tib file to open it?

Also when attempting to mount the image, if you have multiple partitions in the backup, try only selecting the partition you need access to.

Yes, I have tried the double click method.

The three partitions are displayed. When I select the largest, the one with the OS, instead of displaying the error message a blank Windows Explorer pane is shown (no folders/files are listed). The other two partitions display fine.

More information.

Disk 0 is the main volume containing 3 partitions which are backed-up into one tib archive.

Disk 1 is a second 500GB internal hard-drive containing one partition. This disk has a tib back-up archive of Disk 0 which contains the three partitions.

Disk 2 is the 4TB Seagate Backup Plus (USB 3) drive. This contains a copy of the tib archive that is on Disk 1 and also has a second tib archive file (a more recent one created this morning).

None of the 3 partitions will mount in either of the two archives stored on Disk 2 or on the one archive on Disk 1.

Acronis displays this message:

Cannot assign a drive letter to a partition from the backup archive.
