Single version image not replacing the previous image
Hello,
As explained in my previous posts. I have a file backup and an image backup both set to replace the previous backup. The file backup completed and replaced the previous but the image did not. How do I fix this. luckily i had space on the ext hdd. if i didnt have extra space i think the backup would have stopped unexpectedly which was thing i wanted to prevent by setting up single versions

If it were me and I wanted only to keep 1 full backup by creating a new and deleting the old, here is the settings I would use.
Create a new task and use the example of 11-Full found in signature link #2 below. Except change the example of keep 4 to a new setting of keep 1.
My recommendation is also for each task to have its own storge folder with no mixing of backup files.

Many users make such error. If you change folder names or filenames after the fact, True Image won't be able to find those backups. True Image does not dynamically track past backups, so it doesn't know if you went into Windows explorer and changed names.

if i were to delete everything off the ext hard drive. and set up the two back ups again would that fix my problem

Probably but there is nothing wrong with the backups so if you have the space, you should keep them until you need the space.
I believe you would benefit by reviewing link #2 below. The figures 7 and 8 inside the guide shows how you have control over the names being assigned to the backup files and how you have control over the folders where the backup are stored. Also the guide shows how and why the disk option backup is my preferred option for what type of backup to create.
