[EVAL] Log Issue "Failed to send e-mail notification." Is this fixed in ATIH2013?
Environment Information: In my backups, I do not ever set the option to send an email out of my backup tasks.
ATIH2012 Log files generate an error: "Event Details: Failed to send e-mail notification."
(screen shot attached in file: CS001-I - Failed to send e-mail notification.pdf
Inquiry: Is this still an issue in ATIH 2013?
Reason: Evaluating whether to pay for software update, and part of the evaluation has to be whether the update is also an upgrade to remove this message from the log file when it is not warranted. [CS001-I]
If I create a back up task and do not set the option to send emails at the end of the task, the log entry mentioned above is generated, causing the task result to appear as an Error, instead of as a Success. My expectation is that the log file would not treat failure to send an email as an error if it has not been requested in the task.
Does anyone using ATIH 2013 know if this issue has been resolved?
Thanks!

Thanks Collin
No, I don't have it ticked in 2012, and yes it is the annoyance. I have to scan the log to see why the backup was not successful.

Hi Collin and Carey
ATIH2012 produces this unwanted message, if you tick "Shut down the computer after completion" in a manual backup.
It does NOT produce the message, if you do not tick "Shut down..." or if it is a scheduled backup.
Of course it's still a bug in ATIH2012.

Andy - that is not my experience with ATIH 2012, Update 2.1 (build 7133).
My scheduled backup runs every weekday, and the error code appears in every log. I rarely do manual backups nor choose to shutdown after completion.
