Pre-purchase questions

Thread needs solution

I'm new to the forum and looking for help on selecting the right Acronis product. We have a windows 2008 server w/sp1 and it's running MS SQL. OS is on drive C: and sql is on D:.

I need to create recovery plan. I'm considering either a bare medal recovery using a flash drive or a cloned drive C:

I'd appreciate hearing everyone's thoughts on best option here. Also, which Acronis product should we get (a little confused on this).

Please point me to where in the forum and what sections of the user guide I should look at.

What "gotchas" should I be aware of?? I'd rather know this BEFORE the crap happens and .....

I value your experience and your experiences when a critical server went down and you needed it back online fast.

Thanks
Barry

Hello BP,

welcome to Acronis Forum!

Sorry for the delayed answer.

As far as I understood you are looking for the backup solition for your Windows Server 2008 with SQL database. I will be glad to help you!

Here you can find the comparison table of all Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5 editions.

In your case I'd suggest Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Server for Windows but if you need recovery of SQL databases directly to a running SQL Server instance please consider Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Server for Windows with Microsoft SQL Server.

However, even without Add-on for SQL server you can separately recover your SQL databases from disk-level bakcup, but it could take more time.

Let me know if you have fither questions.

Thank you,
