Unable to recover backup - target PC reboots when recovery task is being created.

Yesterday I used the Acronic boot disk and management console to create a full backup of the remote machine. The machine was booted with the boot disk, I then connected to it from the management console and created a full backup. A new drive was then inserted into the machine and it was again booted from the Acronis boot disk. I then connected to it again from the management console and attempted to recover the previously created backup.

I'm able to get through all the steps, selecting the backup from the vault as well as selecting the target drive. However when I start the recovery process on the management console and it gets to the "creating recovery task..." step the target machine reboots. I have tried several times and each time the machine reboots at this step, as such I'm not actually able to recover the backup onto the new drive.

Any ideas?

Hi Paul...did you ever get a solution to this problem?

I have the same thing going on...dual core Gateway E4610d...trying to recover using bootable media and trying to recover from USB Seagate Freeagent drive.
