Server for Linux: NTFS read/write-support

Thread needs solution

Hello!

We are inerested in Backup & Recovery Server for Linux :-) Beside the common features offered from "Server for Linux" we would like to be able to boot the system with the linux based recovery CD/DVD an access files stored into a windows.tib image.

- Does Server for Linux include read-/write-support for NTFS filesystems (if booted from the Linux based recovery CD/DVD) ?

- Does Server for Linux include a GUI with a filemanager (if booted from the Linux based recovery CD/DVD) ?
.
.

Thank's a lot for any feedback!

Is windows.tib image a image of a volume with NTFS system? If yes, then linux-based recovery CD can access this .tib file and recover individual files from it. Regarding NTFS support, linux-based recovery CD (=bootable media) can swith between linux-like and windows-like volume representation. In windows-like mode, it has read/write NTFS support, so it can create backup on NTFS volumes and recover files to them. In linux-like mode NTFS file systems will be read-only. They can be recovered from volumes as a whole, anyway.
Filemanager - no, you have only functionality like the one provided by Management Console when product runs in live linux.

Thank you for the help :-)

Does the boxed version of "Server for Linux" include the linux-based recovery CD,
or it's up to the customer to burn the linux-based recovery CD?

Thank's a lot for any feedback!
