Backup of Server 2008 R2 Failed - Archive shows 0 bytes

Thread needs solution

Used a 2TB WDD My Passport external drive, connected via USB 2.0 drive
Booted the Win server 2008 using an Acronis 11.5 boot disk
Pointed the server to the WDD external drive and attempted to back up all partitions
(C:\, about 30G, and data partition, E:\, maybe 43G)

Set Acronis to normal compression, gave it 100% priority, and I saw the progress bar at about 30% when I left on Friday.

Did NOT use "sector by sector". Set for automatic data split, and verify when completed.

Created a folder on the WDD drive called Srvr2008_bak, or something, and pointed the Acronis system to that.

Any idea why the Archive (1) folder (NOT inside directory I created, on root level) is showing zero K ?

Went through every folder on the WDD drive, which by the way is new with no data except WDD bloat, and there's no backup found anywhere.

I pulled up the manual (electronic) and read through it - it does not specify which OS is valid. Then I pulled up the receipt - our business purchased the workstation-only version.

Without looking at the logs it's hard to say what went wrong. When you try it next time - are there any warning in 'logs' ->events page?
