Fule Backup cannot access source location on NAS server
I run a small home office and have been using Acronis for about 4 years.
now I am trying to initiate a file backup operation / schedule to copy from NAS server to an external storage device, however the attempt fails with the following event details:

situation:
I am doing this tack from my desktop of which my user account is administrator. this user account can logon with full permissions to the NAS server.
the backup operation commences with its usual "preparation" scan of partitions, then after about 5 seconds it states "backing up to ....(the name of the target folder)..." and "calculating time " for about 5 seconds before it halts with error mentioned above.
you will see that the error states the name of the NAS server as UNC file / folder names, and refers to the root of the NAS server. I have chosen several folders from within this to be copied to another location, however it appears that acronis cannot even get inside the NAS server.
I see that in the settings for the backup operation shows "Windows Account" there is an option to run the backup as a different user. I have tried adding explicitly the user account that I am logged into this desktop with and it makes no difference.
I have searched and read many of this forum's discussions and unfortunately not yet found a solution.
I run Kaspersky internet security 2012 and Acronis is listed as trusted in all its forms in the application control.
I have not added Acronis as a user under the NAS server users. I assumed that it would run under my admin credentials from the desktop? I will probably start looking further into this as I cannot find anything else in Acronis.
ps- any ideas much appreciated.
this desktop runs W7 home premium so I cannot add Acronis to the Administrators to run other tests.

I am having this same issue but your (Tuttle) fix won't help. We are both having problems coping FROM the NAS TO a REMOVABLE drive so the destination path has nothing to do with it. And when I have told it to back up the NAS, I have given it the username & password and tested the connections (which works just fine in the test).
Any other ideas?
