Backup image size smaller than actual memory used on HDD
I just dled acronis true image in hopes of making an exact replica image of my hdd with a fresh install (all updates dled, office 2013, etc)
According to my "used space" in properties on the C:, it says I'm using 54GB of the hdd.
However, when I did a partition backup, the backup is only 20gb. How so?
Did it really make a "True Image" of the data on my hdd? I'm worried that if the HDD did suffer a failure, that I potentially did not back up the entire thing.
Did I do anything wrong in doing the backup? any certain settings I have to do?
Thanks in advance!

True Image compresses data when creating a .tib archive.
Don't do a partition backup. For the result you want, you need to create a full disk mode backup where you select a single checkbox for the entire disk.

Thank you SO MUCH! I didn't even notice that option (switch to full disk backup) at the corner. Your help is greatly appreciated!
