Installing Acronis Universal Restore

Thread needs solution

I have installed universal recovery as per the instructions on the knowledge base for Advanced backup and recovery 10.

But it still doesn't allow me to create a boot disk with the option.

Anyone got the same problem

I am using windows vista x64

I got the same issue during my installtion. Acronis said after the finishing, Universal Restore isn't available.

My solution for this problem was to start the installtion again (not from Acronis itself) and to accept unpacking installtion files. After that, you have the Universal Restore .msi, which can be install manually.

That's it.

Hello all,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]

Darren,

When exactly does the creation fail?

If you have already installed Acronis Universal Restore, the program will create Acronis Bootable rescue media with AUR by default (you have no choice to create the CD without AUR). You can check this in the Help section of the CD.

Thank you.

Basically, I have installed it from a download after I purchased it. I did a complete installed to start with but that did not show the universal restore option. I then tried to uninstall the universal restore part through modify and then reinstall it using modify again. Same result.

I thought at this point I would try this on an another computer, which I installed the without universal restore. I then manually ran the msi file and tried it again same result. The OS on this occasion was windows XP SP3

I am stumpted

Its annoying because I bought this software with the intention of creating several images that can be install onto different computers and so far I have waisted a day trying so any help appreciated

Hello Darren,

Thank you for your response.

We have released a new build of the program (# 11105), please install it and see if the issue remains. You can learn more on how to download the latest build here.

You can also download the appropriate ISO file to create Acronis Bootable Rescue Media after logging in to your account (the serial numbers should be registered). Please log in to your account, go to the Registered products section -> Bootable media. Download the file.

You can find more information on how to burn an ISO image to a CD here  and here

Thank you.

Also on the updates page I cannot download any updates, even though I am logged into my account

Oleg,

I don't have any "Bootable Media" tabs under either BNR WS or BNR WS Advanced. Should I? I have them for Echo WS and DD 10.

Darren,

The update for the UK licenses will be available soon. Meanwhile, I am sending an ISO file to create Acronis Bootable Rescue Media via PMs.

FBMachines,

The "Bootable Media" tab should be available for Acronis Backup & Recovery.  I will create a request to the appropriate department.  Please let me know if you need these files, I will send them to you via PMs.

Thank you.

Oleg,

I now have "Bootable Media" tabs for BNR 10 WS and WS Advanced.  Thanks.  Should I also have it for BNR 10 WS Advanced Deduplication?  Or is that not an option in the rescue disc?

Thanks

Hello FBMachines,

No, Deduplication option is available for Windows versions only. Furthermore, Deduplication is separately licensed add on.

Thank you.
