Universal Restore Grayed Out

Thread needs solution

I have premium and I'm trying to restore an image with universal restore, since it's for different hardware. Problem is universal restore is grayed out. What can be the cause? is it necessary that the source is create with a "universal restore" able true image version?

Hello Fernando,

there are several reasons why Acronis Universal Restore can be not available. For example, if you want to recover Nonstop Backup or if you have simple backup, but the program doesn't  recognize supported operating system in the image.

Please create a new media with Plus Pack (best of all download an .iso image under your account) and follow this guide. If it doesn't help, please contact our support team.

Thank you.

Hi,
I had a similar problem when I was trying to recover the backup. I purchased packaged version of premium 2014, activated and made a bootable disk and backup on external drive.
To write a question to the support, I created an account and registered the product. My serial number was recalled (!) and I got a new sereal number. After I changed to a new serial number. The word "premium" showed on the titile of the program. When I boot with a newly made bootable disk, I can check the option for universal recovery. If you have not registered your product, you may have the same issue.
