The backup destination field is pre-filled with default path while editing backup plan settings.

Thread needs solution

Reporting a bug so that hopefully Acronis will address it and that other users will be aware. Here are the steps that cause the bug:

1. Open ATI 2014
2. On the Backup and recovery tab highlight an existing File backup.
3. Click on either "settings" in the lower right or the "gear" icon and then "edit settings".
4. At that point the destination will be pre-filled not with the actual current destination of the backup but with a default value of "C:\My backups".

At this point if you make no changes and click on "cancel", from that point on if you follow steps 2 and 3 above the backup destination will be pre-filled with the correct current destination of the existing backup. However, if you exit out of ATI 2014, restart it, and follow the steps above you will again encounter the problem as described. Obviously this bug can cause serious problems if you don't notice the change to the backup destination, make other changes, and "save".

Note that this bug only occurs with File backups. It does not happen with Disk backups, the destination is always correctly reflected with them.

Hello wags1,

Actually I cannot reproduce the described behavior on my system.

Could you please create a test backup plan, check if the issue persists and if so, click on save button while destination field shows incorrect information.

Also please specify operating system you are using and the exact path, that you are using to save your backups (best of all create a screenshot to illustrate the issue).

Thank you in advance!

OS is Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I will create files test backup plan and add screen shots to illustrate the issue. Note that the problem only occurs with files backup not disk backup. Thanks.

Ok, thank you very much for helping!
And what happens if you click on "save" button?

If you click on "save" the backup location is changed to C:\My backups and the backups from that point on are saved to the new location (C:\My backups). Unfortunately that was how I discovered the problem in the first place.

Thank you again!
I've forwarded the information to our QA and update the thread as soon as I receive any news.
Best regards
