Intermittent password error

Thread needs solution

I am using TrueImage 11 to run a nightly backup. Most of the time it runs without any problems, but about every week or two it will fail with a "user name or password for the remote resource is incorrect' (0x103f7) error. I then have to reboot both the source and destination PCs for it to work again. Why would this happen intermittently when nothing has changed on either machine?

Hello Glenn,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

When you map a drive, it becomes mapped only under your Windows account. The Acronis product runs its tasks using the system account and so it is sometimes impossible to locate your mapped drive (especially when you are logged off).

In order to solve the issue please use a full UNC path (e.g. \\server\share\) instead of a mapped drive.

You can also use a pre backup command to mount the mapped drive for an Acronis scheduled task:

  1. Download map.drive.txt;
  2. Follow instructions in Using Batch Files in Acronis True Image.

Let me know if the issue persists.

Thank you.
