Erroneous Home Page Error Message? A-TI Home 2010

Thread needs solution

I have set the Acronis True Image Home 2010 program to make a nightly image of my C drive. It runs every night making an incremental back-up. I have automatic consolidation set to limit the back-ups to a maximum of 3. All logs report back that everything is fine. However, after the run where the first consolidation occurs (the fourth night), the Acronis home page states that my system is no longer protected. On any run prior to consolidation (nights 1, 2, and 3) the message states I am fully protected. As I stated earlier, the logs are fine after night 4. The archives also validate fine after night 4. The only problem is that on night 4 and after the home page tells me I am not protected. The filenames of the archives change slightly after the first consolidation, so I am thinking that may be it. The situation I describe occurs with any type of back-up (regular, one-click, etc. - I have tried them all with exactly the same results).

I am using build 6053 (and I installed it after uninstalling the previous version). Again, everything seems to be fine except for the home page message.

So is something really wrong? What can be done to fix the problem?

Any help would be greatly aprreciated. The error message does not leave me with a lot of confidence.

Hello Paul,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to give you a clear explanation.

The "Protection State" status can be shown incorrectly if you save backup archives to an external drive. If your backup archives can be validated successfully you can safely ignore that message as it doesn’t really influence the protection of your system but just shows you that complete system partition backup was created.

The issue will be fixed in near future.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

If you are confident that ATI has completed the backup, then the problem is with ATI not refreshing the protection alert. I have been told this will not be fixed until maybe the next build. Until the next build fix comes you can manually fix the message update, if you use the link below provided by Aronis....Hope this helps.
