Cloning problem
Hi,
Having problem cloning 1.9 tb hard drive to a 4.0 tb hard drive. Original drive in MBR mode, the larger hard drive in GPT mode. Keeps coming up with a file error, error message (of which I can find no reference on Aconis site). Just undertaking a chkdsk (as suggested in log file error) on the drive, (nil results yet). Tried recovering the backed up image )of current C drive) to the new drive. That process went through ok, but computer won't boot with the new drive?? Can't find the MBR error message. Any suggestions??

Further further, the backed up image is on another secondary drive of the pc and obviously the new drive is a stand alone internal.

The disk check of the relevant hard drive did not reveal any errors. However, I think I have worked out what is happening. My motherboard is not UEFI compliant, so I then believe, windows 8.1 will not boot from that disk, even if I manage to clone it and probably why it didn't boot when I mounted the image on that disk. Can someone confirm this and is there a work around in booting for a non compliant UEFI motherboard.

Orion_jb2001,
Could you please clarify? You mention clone and then say you have an image on an external drive, these are two very different things in the True Image world.
Are you trying to recover an image from within Windows or from the recovery media?
Windows 8.1 will work on a non UEFI machine, but only if you installed it on a a non UEFI machine.
When you made the image did you make a complete disk image or only the C:\ partition?
